I exist to suckle at the sweet nectar-filled blossom of life.
As a discerning foodie, seasoned budget traveler, devout hedonist and luxury junkie, I am forever on the quest for the latest divine experience for the least amount of money possible.
The purpose of this blog is to share my findings and experiences with fellow pleasure seekers, and exchange stories, tips and ideas. I hope you will find within these pages juicy morsels to take with you to enjoy and form your own stories with (and perhaps even share them here in the comments section).
I travel and explore whenever I can. Sometimes, that even means piggybacking on business trips with my husband Tony, and often it includes piggybacking on the back of his motorcycle.
After a decade residing in the San Francisco Bay Area (Silicon Valley), I have recently returned to my home town of Los Angeles. So much has changed, and to my utter glee, so very much has remained the same.
I feel like a tourist in my home town now, and it is fantastic! I am so in love with L.A. My heart grew fonder during my absence. Every day is a new adventure, and I look forward to sharing it all with you here.
In addition to sharing stories on this blog, I am a TV producer, entrepreneur, wife, mother, and occasional activist. Like many of my fellow bloggers, this blog is a creative outlet for me. Sometimes that means I do not post here as often as I would like.
I created this blog as a source of pleasure, and an escape from stressful obligations. And, so it is.
If you would like to keep up with what I am doing between posts, you can follow me on twitter.com: @PaulaMaack
Thank you for visiting! I hope you will leave many comments, so I can get to know you as well.
Bliss & Blintzes,
~ Paula

Paula…I saw your post on Chocolate and Zucchini. I live in Los Altos, and there is a little Japanese produce stand at the intersection of Homestead and Foothill Expressway that has wonderful quince. Happy cooking!
November 30th, 2008 at 11:14 pmHi Dot (my neighbor!),
Thank you so much!! How very thoughtful of you to stop by and clue me in!
I can’t wait to go claim my quince. Is the stand you are referring to located in the Trader Joe’s shopping center?
Gratefully,
~ Paula
December 1st, 2008 at 11:42 amHi Paula,
I want to do a follow-up blog post on food elitism and would like to use a few quotes from your comment on Michael Ruhlman’s “Food Fight” blog post. I thought I should check with your first. No problem if you would prefer I don’t use them.
My apologies for the public request. I couldn’t find an e-mail address to ask you privately.

Thank you for stopping by, and for contacting me about this. I am flattered that you would like to quote my words, and by all means, please be my guest.
I trust you to keep things in context and to present your case eloquently for the greater good, so go forth with your bad self, and do what you gotta!
Cheers,
~ Paula

Hey Beautiful…
It has been a long time. I loved your blog about Paris (I have a strange affinity for the city by the Seine even though I’ve only been twice). Passionate and thoughtful writing.
Found this site by accident. Food and travel? We could be the same person!
Hope you are doing fabulous…knowing you, you are!!
Best to the family

It is so great to hear from you! It has been ages!!
Your Myspace page looks great. Looks like you are a busy working musician working with the big names, as always. Makes me long for the the good ol’ days.
According to your photo, you haven’t changed a bit. Same adorable dimples and guitar flung over your shoulder.
I’ll send you an email soon to follow up.
Best to you and yours,
~ Paula
